With our residency programs and art experiences at Himmelbjerggården's Ancient Future ArtWalk, we want to create a broad framework, but room for contemplation, for artistic investigations of the relationship between humans and nature.
Various artists are invited to contribute to the Ancient Future ArtWalk, which is created as a walk that invites visitors to examine our shared human cultural roots and world understanding. The ArtWalk is embedded in Himmelbjerggården's scenic area, and consists of a number of artworks and landscape installations that are woven together into a unified narrative. The intention is to investigate the role of art in communicating about contemporary challenges.
We offer artists artist-in-residence courses of different durations. You are welcome to contact us if you want to know more about our residency programs.
At Himmelbjerggården I had the feeling of being at the end of the world and in the middle of a village at the same time. The nature around the place is fantastic and will fit in perfectly with all artistic and creative people, where nature is included as an inspiration or subject in their work. I disappeared into the forest, walked in circles in the stone spiral and delved into the old teaching material from the time of the orphanage. A thoroughly lovely and inspiring experience that moved both me and my art.
