Two conversations about how we find our way in an uncertain future
Wednesday 7 February at Himmelbjerggården, at 19.30-21.00
Thursday 8 February at Sager Der Samler in Aarhus, at 19.30-21.00
These two conversations with author and project maker Dougald Hine is about how we find new ways into a future characterized by climate change, political instability, accelerating technologies and greater global inequality. Although the talks are coherent, the topics on the two evenings are different.
Dougald Hine is, among other things, co-founder of The Dark Mountain Project, which, with the call to abandon the dream of making the modern high-consumption society sustainable, started a global cultural movement that turns its back on the progress narrative of development and growth. He has recently published the book "At Work in the Ruins” about how we find the courage and wisdom to walk along “the small and branching paths” into a future where friendships and communities can thrive.
Dougald lives in Sweden, where he, together with his wife Anna, runs the school A School Called Home, who create live events and online courses with participants and guest teachers from all over the world. He is also the host of the podcast The Great Humbling along with futurist Ed Gillespie. Many of Dougald's lyrics can be found on his Substack “Writing Home“.
The event is in English. Entrance is DKK 150 - you can buy a ticket to Himmelbjerggården here and for things that collect here.
