EarthWays was formally established as an association in spring 2020 by Jesper Saxgren, Jeppe Graugaard and Aslaug Færch Johnsen to create learning activities at Himmelbjerggården that support our mission. In the years since then, we have initiated a number of projects and collaborations, and developed our own approach to teaching ecoliteracy and facilitating learning experiences that is anchored in our learning and design model.

Today, we offer a range of learning and facilitation activities through our Regenerative Learning Lab – at Himmelbjerggården and beyond – that help individuals and organizations to connect and attune with nature. On a daily basis, EarthWays is run by Jeppe Graugaard and Jesper Saxgren who work with a network of teachers and facilitators that share our mission.

EarthWays is located at Himmelbjerggården, which is a retreat center surrounded by forested hills, lakes and valleys in the heart of Denmark. With its exceptional teaching facilities and 20 hectares of land, Himmelbjerggården is an ideal place to learn about and with nature. We are helping regenerate the natural surroundings of Himmelbjerggården and to revitalize the place as a cultural gathering point. We have already implemented a number of regenerative strategies on the farm.

We are a member-based association and there are various opportunities to collaborate or get involved in our work. Our statutes can be found here (in Danish). The board currently consists of Jesper Saxgren (chairperson), Jeppe Graugaard (treasurer) and Aslaug Færch Johnsen (representative of Himmelbjerggården). We also have a team of ambassadors who support both the organizational development and the unfolding of EarthWay’s vision: Jacob Rask, Rune Engelbreth Larsen, Skye Jin, Michael Paulsen, Kåre Birk, Lone Belling, Anne Weber Carlsen, Trine Rytter Andersen and Theis Scherfig.

You are welcome to contact us if you want to know more about the association or have a project you would like to collaborate on.
